Dear members, advisors, and governors of the John Street Club,

I hope this message finds you well. It's hard to believe that we have already reached the halfway point of 2024. Looking at our formal event calendar, we have already completed more than 50% of our scheduled meetings for this year.

I am pleased to report that the John Street Club has had a fantastic start to 2024 and I would like to express my gratitude to the Board of Governors, advisors, members, guest speakers, and event attendees for your active participation, engagement, and valuable feedback.  Our very positive post-pandemic trajectory continues.

So far this year, we have hosted approximately 400 people at the 3 West Club. Our guest speakers have included industry leaders such as John Mina (CEO - Risk Strategies), Kevin Rabinowitz (COO - Relation Insurance), Michelle Sartain (President & CEO - Marsh US and Canada), Bobbie Collies (Chief Insurance Officer - Coterie), and Hemant Shah (Co-Founder & COB - Archipelago). Each of these speakers has provided us with unique and insightful perspectives on their roles and experiences within the Risk & Insurance ecosystem.

I am delighted to announce that we have welcomed 9 new members, bringing our current membership roster to 286.  Please contact Paula Trinchera with any membership inquiries.

In addition to our regular monthly meeting activities, we have conducted a membership survey and participated in external events.   Our LinkedIn page presence continues to grow and is now at 1,426 followers and increase of over 500 from one year ago.   And the JSC remains in a healthy financial position. 

I am excited to share details about two upcoming summer events:

1. John Street Golf Outing: Join us on July 25 from Noon to 6:30 PM at Knoll Country Club in Boonton, NJ for a day of golf and networking, coordinated by Michael Hodson, Secretary. 

2. Joint Mixer with Water Street Club: On August 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, we will be hosting a joint mixer with the Water Street Club at Industry Kitchen in NYC. This will be a great opportunity to connect with members from another esteemed club, coordinated by Qi Hang, Events Chairperson.

Our monthly speaker schedule will resume on September 12 with Julie Wood, CEO of QBE North America. We also have upcoming 2024 speakers including Joel Wood from CIAB (October 10), Vince Tizzio from AXIS Capital (November 14), and we are scheduled to close out 2024 with Mark Wilhelm from Safety National on December 12.  We are always seeking industry speakers for our pipeline.  If you have any ideas please reach out to our terrific Speaker Chairperson, James Riviezzo.

Lastly, I am thrilled to announce that the John Street Club will be launching an online Shopify store in Fall 2024. This will provide members with the opportunity to purchase club merchandise. Thanks to our Vice President, Kim Boldi, for her hard work behind the scenes on this.
