Dear John Street Club Members,
First and foremost, I extend my warmest wishes to everyone for a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe that another year has flown by. Just about a year ago, our outgoing President, Steve Robinson, remarked to me that the year would pass remarkably quickly—and he was right! We have just concluded our final formal event of 2024, marking another successful year for the John Street Club.
At the start of 2024, I outlined the following High-Level Objectives:
- Sustain the club’s strong momentum established post-pandemic (raising the club’s profile through external communications, with a strong emphasis on social media).
- Position the club for a vibrant future (through engaging speakers, strong attendance, outreach, membership growth, and new involvement opportunities).
- Enhance communication with members (e.g., publishing speaker schedules six months in advance, email updates, St. John’s scholarships, etc.).
I am proud to say we achieved these goals. Our club has grown significantly across key metrics:
- Significant increase in participation at the July Golf Outing.
- Double digit growth in active JSC membership and total income.
- A substantial rise in LinkedIn followers and impressions.
Additionally, our monthly event attendance held steady, averaging 77 attendees—comparable to the 80 attendees in 2023—demonstrating continued strong engagement.
In 2024, we hosted an exceptional lineup of diverse industry leaders across nine formal events. These leaders recognize the John Street Club as the premier risk and insurance social network community in the country. With robust connections to senior executives, a central location at the heart of commerce, and a diverse membership base, the JSC remains a beacon of excellence in our industry.
I extend my deepest gratitude to our 2024 Officers:
- Paula Trinchera, Membership Chair (concluding her role this year).
- James Murphy, Treasurer (who transitioned out in November, succeeded by Chris Hilbrecht).
- James Riviezzo, Speaker Chair.
- Michael Hodson, Secretary and Golf Outing Chair.
- Kim Boldi, Vice President.
And to our 2024 Board of Governors:
- Brendan Mahoney (Scholarship Chair).
- Qi Hang (Social Chair).
- Anders Land.
- Ayesha West.
- Stacie Lilian.
- Gillian Russo.
Finally, I’d like to thank our 2024 JSC Advisors: Steve Robinson, Kerry Dunn, Alan Carlson, and Hilary Ruby.
Looking ahead, by now you have received a ballot to vote for the 2025 Officer candidates. I strongly encourage your participation to uphold the tradition and momentum that define our club.
We look forward to seeing you at our Annual General Meeting on January 9, 2025 where we will celebrate 2024’s achievements and introduce the 2025 Officers.
